Terfa Moti is our Program Associate. He holds a degree in Biology and a Master’s in Public Health. He is experienced in strategic planning, designing, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of public health and developmental programs with maximum efficiency in achieving set goals successfully. He uses this experience in proffering interventions to solve public health challenges through research, M&E and project management and has worked in local communities focusing on Maternal and Child Health. He brings on board research and program management skills from working on previous projects to this organization.
Cordelia Chiagozie is our Program Coordinator. Cordelia is a Social Development Researcher with over 10years of practical experience working for international, state, local governments and non-governmental organizations by managing and implementing projects on Vulnerable Children (VC), Gender, Parenting, Child Protection/Labour, HIV/AIDs, Water, Sanitation, Hygiene (WASH), Maternal, Child and New-born Health, Persons with Disabilities, Gender, among other health researches.
Graduating from the University of Ibadan with both Bachelor and Master degrees in Sociology with only a brief pause to enable her attend the compulsory NYSC scheme where she served with the Nigerian Prisons Headquarters, Abuja. She is currently in pursuit of a Doctoral degree in the same university. A member of the Sociology National and International learned bodies and has made presentations at some conferences, in addition to publishing in peer reviewed journals on Gender Studies and Industrial Sociology. She has also taught at the University of Ibadan between 2007 and 2015 both as a Teaching and Tutorial Assistant for General Studies 103 (Government, Society and the Economy) on a part time basis.
Cordelia is experienced in programme/project management from design & planning to implementation and Monitoring & Evaluation, she is quite at ease with developing programmes work plans, monitoring & evaluation plans, budgets and reports occasioned by her trainings and experience working with organizations like UNICEF, USAID, Action Aid, Save the Children International, Child Frontiers, Maestral International, IntraHealth, Capacity Plus, UNH4, Research Alliance to Combat HIV/AIDS (REACH), Institute of Public Health, Mexico (INSP), MTNF Disability Support Project, State Ministries of women Affairs among others with VC, Women and Youth as core areas of intervention. She has also taken special interest in studying to get more knowledge on her areas of study to help her perform better and work towards building the capacity of any institution that she comes in contact with. These experiences have further exposed her to working with diverse stakeholders, both within the public and private sectors in improving and touching lives of the poor and underserved population like children and women as well as promoting access to fundamental services.
Cordelia’s strengths are adaptability, dependability and the determination to get a job done as proven by her varied work experiences in research, social and development areas. Her ability to speak and understand more languages have been a strong point for her. She tries to learn something new from every experience because of her belief that there is always room for self-improvement both personally and professionally.
She is a good team player and facilitator with a firm belief that working together effectively in a team enhances greater productivity and sustainability. She possesses among others an excellent writing, verbal communication, facilitation, managerial, organizational, IT, interpersonal and analytical skills, which have helped to produce the best in the delivery of her assigned duties to the satisfaction of her employers.
Amana Rosemary Ojochogwuis one of our Program Officers. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry and a Master’s degree (in View) in Environmental Science. She has vast experience in relationship management and customer service from previous employments. She is a dedicated and vibrant young woman with a passion for rendering services to underserved communities and she brings the experiences gathered from working with such communities to this organization.
PROFILE - CENTRAL TEAM
Mercy Jinkai is our Program Assistant. She provides programmatic, administrative and logistics support to the team, she holds a diploma in community health extension work (CHEW) and has experience in graphic design and a range of administrative functions.
Esther Kyaagba is our Benue State Field Coordinator. She is a health development specialist with over 37 years working experience in management of health programs and provision of health services at the state, local government and community levels.
She has worked in the public sector, as well as in partnership with development stakeholders. Her valuable experience cuts across health planning, management and policy issues, project management and program coordination (Health System Development project I & II World Bank Assisted/African Development Bank, HIV & AIDS Fund project I & II, Health System Strengthening Project, Reproductive Health, Challenge TB program, Malaria project, control of Neglected Tropical diseases (NTDs), advocacy and community mobilization, Nutrition and Maternal, Neonatal and Child Health programs). She has shown demonstrable capacities in preparation of State and HIV/AIDS Strategic Health Development Plans, annual plans and budget, co-ordination of Human Resources for Health, Health Management Information Systems (HMIS) and state Integrated Supportive Supervision (ISS) reports. She is proficient in contract processing and management, capacity building and mentorship, supervision, monitoring and evaluation, procurement processes aligned with stipulated guidelines and best practices, consultancy and research skills. She has engaged in multi-partner collaboration and co-coordination, and has partnered with a range of development partners and local and international NGOs and state ministries, departments and agencies.
She is a specialist in the areas of health planning and program management, service delivery, particularly in health and social protection. She has a track record in planning, management, coordination and strengthening of health systems including HIV/AIDS response in Benue State. Over time, she has demonstrated a strong understanding of the experiential learning model and ability to design, adapt and use participatory training and evaluation methods as well as other change management and human development tools.
She has a Masters of Arts Degree in Health Management, Planning and Policy from University of Leeds, United Kingdom and B.SC Nursing Sciences, University of Nigeria, Nsukka. She is a registered Nurse and Midwife in Nigeria. She is certified in Advance Project Management and Procurement of Goods; Procurement & Financial Management; Leadership and Management; Budget planning in crisis situation; Learning and Documentation; Computer Applications; Management Consulting, Local Resource Mobilization and in HIV&AIDS Counseling. She is proficient in using HMIS DHIS.
